Welcome
The
Glacier Mountaineering Society is a group of people dedicated to
the mountain environment of Glacier National Park, Waterton
National Park and the Northern Rockies of Montana and Alberta.
These are places where majestic spires lord above jeweled lakes
and sheer glaciated cliffs isolate colorful alpine landscapes.
The Glacier Mountaineering Society grew from a group of people
motivated to experience, explore and protect the varied
landscapes of this region.
GMS has members of all ages and experience
levels with varied interests and objectives including
scramblers, alpinists, crag and sport climbers, and people who
just have a special love for high and wild mountain places.
All
encompass the friendly atmosphere of GMS, and as one of our
members enthusiastically notes, "It's a great way to meet new
friends with the same interests."
The Glacier Mountaineering Society invites you to join, and come along on our next climb, participate in our next social event, or just keep up on the latest climbing routes and news in Glacier and surrounding climbing areas. Join GMS Today!
GMS provides membership applications and a schedule of climbs and news of our special Mountaineering Week on this web site. GMS also publishes a winter newsletter and a magazine format journal, "Going-to-the-Sun." The latest Journal will be mailed to new members. The Membership Application form and GMS Products Order Form can be downloaded in PDF format from the Forms and Info Page. Annual dues are only $25.00 for individuals, $40.00 for couples and $7.50 for junior members 17 years old and younger.
