We started early, had a pleasant walk through the woods to the base of Shangrila, climbed through the rocks and then followed the stream to the lake. After an early lunch at the lake we climbed up to the ridge over Iceberg Lake. As we started down we were surprised to see no people on the beach at Iceberg Lake. The trail to Iceberg Lake (and Ptarmigan Tunnel) had been closed mid-morning that day because of several bears near the trail. A park ranger was waiting at the lake her job was to escort us out on the closed Iceberg Lake trail.
