Vern Ingraham, Frank Weslovsky and Bill Haring recently climbed Walton Mountain. Above Left: Bill looked back at Frank (right) and Vern while roped up on Harrison Glacier. Above Right: The trio on the summit with Mount Jackson behind them. The only other comment Bil provided was that they saw five grizzlies during the climb. Photos by Bill Haring.
Brian Kennedy (left) and Buck Hasson at Boundary Marker #269 on the U.S.-Canada boundary after climbing Long Knife Peak.

Fifteen minutes into the bushwhack above Upper Kintla Lake Brian straddled a knarly log that broke at the wrong time and ripped the rear out of his pants. Then on the way back down through the thick brush a wasp found that hole and stung him on the butt. They flushed a big bull elk out of the brush on the way up as well.

After summiting Mt Jackson we stopped at 6400 feet to rest. This grizzly came up behind us to about 40 feet before we realized it was there. We quickly had 4 bear sprays and a camera at the ready. The rest was uneventful. Climbers included Stephen Smith, Sean Fitzpatrick, David Koel and Denise Grabowski and Tony Dawson. Photo by Tony Dawson.
